Our Deep-Dive Review: The Best of Fenty Beauty

Our Deep-Dive Review: The Best of Fenty Beauty

I’ll be honest with you guys. Normally, when celebrities come out with makeup, perfume, or skin care, I kind of give it a side-eye. We’ve all seen the blatant money-grab collabs and weird product releases enough times that I think some healthy skepticism is warranted.

So naturally, when Rihanna launched Fenty Beauty, I was like, “Meh, okay. Yet another famous person is releasing a few random makeup items, whatever.” And that was about it for the first few weeks. I watched a few YouTube reviews though, and I became interested. Not only was her makeup supposed to be perfect for oily skin (it me), but it came in a bazillion shades, which meant that my pale skin with weird undertones could actually find a match.

Now, Fenty is well-established, and Rihanna isn’t slowing down. And honestly? I’m here for it. Turns out that my skepticism was misplaced because I’ve loved every single Fenty product I’ve tried.

Normally, when celebrities come out with a beauty line, I give it a side-eye. Turns out my skepticism was misplaced because I’ve loved every single Fenty product I’ve tried.

Let’s talk about my top Fenty picks!

Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer

Guys, this is probably my favorite lip gloss in the history of lip gloss. Okay, except maybe that really glassy watermelon Lip Smackers liquid gloss from the ’90s, but you get what I mean.

Now that I’m not a tween obsessed with having glittery, sticky, mirror-finish lips, this Fenty gloss is magical. I didn’t know that a gloss could be so smooth, comfortable, AND have gorgeous payoff, too.

There are now a few different shades of Gloss Bomb to choose from, but the original shade (Fussy) really is universally perfect. I’ve seen it on lots of people, and it’s such a beautiful, glam shade on every skin tone. Even if you’re normally a lip balm or lipstick kinda girl, I think you should give it a try.

Fenty Beauty Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil

I LOVE a good highlighter. Do I want to blind someone with how sparkly my face is? Absolutely. Will I shamelessly have six different types of highlighters open on my vanity? You better believe it.

So when I say that this is one of the most beautiful highlighters I’ve ever used, I hope you understand just how great it has to be. I wish I had a picture to show you guys, but I’m waiting on a fresh one to be delivered.

Diamond Bomb is everything I want in a highlighter. It’s buttery soft. It’s blindingly shimmery. It doesn’t fade as the day wears on. And somehow, it manages to give your skin a radiant, lit-from-within glow. If it was socially acceptable to dunk my entire body into a vat of this powder, I would change my last name to Cullen and do it tomorrow.

Pro Filt’r Mattifying Primer

Fair warning: This primer does not mess around. If you have normal or dry skin, go for the hydrating version of this primer instead, because you will end up looking like a desiccated mummy.

Anyone with oily skin can count on this baby to keep you matte and poreless all day, though! I can’t use it every day, but when it’s hot and humid or my skin is having a hormonal fit, I can use this primer and feel confident that I won’t be a nasty oil slick by midday.

The only small downside is that it can spotlight peach fuzz, so be careful of that!

Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation

As far as I understand it, Rihanna purposely formulated this Pro Filt’r Soft Matte foundation to work incredibly well with the primer I just mentioned, and boy does it. I don’t wear heavy base makeup much these days, but I do like to keep samples of this foundation on hand for the rare occasion that I do a full face of makeup.

Even if you don’t use the Pro Filt’r primer first, this foundation is gorgeous. It is mattifying, but not in a “chalky skin” kind of way. It manages to blur enlarged pores and keep your skin from getting too shiny, but somehow it also gives you a fresh-looking glow? I don’t know how she managed it, but Rihanna made a foundation that is worth every penny you spend on it.

As a big plus, it also comes in a huge range of shades, so just about anyone can find a match!

What Are Your Fenty Faves?

Rihanna has come out with so many new products that there are quite a few I haven’t tried yet! I’m beyond impressed with the formulas, shades, and longevity of everything I mentioned in the roundup today.

Have you tried any Fenty Beauty products? What do you think? Tell me which products I need to try next in the comments!
