I’m just going to go ahead and admit it: TikTok has single-handedly kept me sane during all of this *waves hands frantically*. Between a major surgery, COVID-19, and all of the racial unrest in the United States, it’s been hard to find pockets of happiness. But thankfully, TikTok always has my back. I’m not ashamed to say I’ve spent hours of my day scrolling through all of the memes, hilarious animal videos, and the especially hilarious challenge where boyfriends/husbands act like their partners.
But in the midst of all the fun, there is a ton to learn from the TikTok beauty community. I personally believe it’s the best place to find the latest trends. Want to know my fave beauty trends on TikTok? Check them out below!
Removing Body Hair with Magic Shaving Powder
When I first watched this video (and fell into the rabbit hole of all the other videos), I was shook. I first of all had no idea what Magic Shaving Powder was, but FYI it’s an old school shaving powder formulated for Black men to avoid ingrown hairs. I’m going to be honest—shaving and removing body hair is a chore and definitely hasn’t been at the top of the list for quarantine, but I gotta say, my mind might have been changed with this TikTok beauty trend. Of course, patch test before using to avoid any irritation. (If you can find it! It’s been sold out for months!)
@relentlysI have to rate it 8/10 bc the STENCH, but results are impeccable. I would do it outside if I were u…amazon link in bio! 1.87!! ##magicshavingpowder♬ Say So (Instrumental Version) [Originally Performed by Doja Cat] – Elliot Van Coup
This makeup challenge that’s trending on TikTok is one of my faves. The challenge? Film a 10-second video of you applying makeup—eyeshadow, gloss, lipstick, eyeliner, whatever you like—and then off camera, film an elaborate hour+ long makeup look. Transition between the two, and BAM, your TikTok video is complete. Look up the hashtag and I promise you’ll get sucked into a multiple hours-long scrolling session. They’re all so good!

Skincare By Hyram
Yes, Hyram is a trend unto himself. Boasting 6.5 million followers on TikTok, he’s definitely one of the platform’s most popular influencers. Some of his most viral videos include him doing a duet (where you react or respond to another TikTokers video) with someone who has taken his skin care advice and reacting to how much their skin has improved. His focus is on using minimal but effective products in your routine that deliver hydration and moisture.

Blush on Your Nose
TikTok E-girls (the ones obsessed with K-pop, gaming, cosplay, or just spending a lot of time on TikTok in general) are truly the beauty trendsetters. Never in one million years did I think that putting blush on your nose would be cute—red and pink noses automatically make me think of having a cold—but for some reason, it’s SO adorable on E-girls.

Just when you thought your colorful, rainbow bright eyeshadow was enough, the Gen Zs have to take it a step up with two-toned or multicolored eyebrows. While I could never pull these brows off, the tutorials are truly mesmerizing. I still don’t understand how people have the patience!
