10 DIY Nail Art Inspo to Ignite Your Inner Artist

10 DIY Nail Art Inspo to Ignite Your Inner Artist

I haven’t been to a nail salon since March. MARCH. It’s absolutely unbelievable. I went from a standing every-three-week appointment to having to soak and file my own acrylic nails off. My nail salon has been opened for months, but I’m still not comfortable sitting in for an appointment. So, I’ve decided to invest my time into a new hobby: DIY nail art!

Having my nails done is one of my forms of self-care and always makes me feel better. And trust, in these times, I’m trying to find happiness and fun wherever I can get it. I keep a folder on my Instagram page for saving all of my favorite DIY nail art designs, so whenever I need some inspo, I can find it quickly. Want to see some of my faves I have saved? Let me share with you!

1. Naked Nail Art

I’m a HUGE fan of “naked” nail art—nail tone polish, topped with fun, punchy pops of color. This design definitely fits the bill.

2. Bold & Angular

Nail art doesn’t have to be complicated. Pair a bright, bold shade with angular lines for a modern look.

3. Subtle Tie-Dye

Still haven’t bought a tie-dye sweatsuit set? Well, no worries, you can just tie-dye your nails! For extra glam, you can add tiny gold flakes or crystals.

4. Modern Art

We may not be able to go to museums just yet, but no worries! You can simply DIY some modern art on your nails. I am obsessed with this design and fall color combination.

5. Nude Graphic

You can always count on Eunkyung Park (aka @nail_unistella) to bring the gorgeous nail art. This design is incredibly simple but gorgeous. And it’s perfect if you work at a job where you need to be a little more discreet with your nail art.

6. Cow Print

Lush fall colors? Check. A touch of fun by way of a super easy cow print? We absolutely love it. This one might actually be my next manicure.

7. Fall Florals

I am a sucker for good flower nail art, and this design fits the bill. I love the juxtaposition between the allover flower print and the minimalist three flowers. It’s just enough without being too busy.

8. Festive Gradient

I’ve tried gradient nails in the past and have not had the best luck (patience is not my strong suit), but these nails are just too pretty to pass up. I might have to attempt it again!

9. Chic French Tips

If I could have this nail art on my hands for the rest of my life, I wouldn’t be mad. The slate-colored french tips, the tiny little star decal stickers at the base of the nail, and omg the healthy, strong length! *chefs kiss*

10. Mix & Match

I am obsessed with “random” nail art—you know, where you just mix and match a bunch of themes together and somehow it works? Well, tortoise shell, cow print, cherries, and flowers all definitely work together, and this nail art is evidence!
